Characterization of Conductive Inks in Gravure Printing

Printed electronics has challenges in several areas. Accurately printing a fine conductive line is one of them. There are numerous critical parameters that are a significant part of the printing process such as the conductive metal used in ink, ink film thickness, ink viscosity, ink resin type, ink filler content, ink surface tension, surface roughness of the substrate, and print resolution. However, the electrical performance of the printed piece depends on all of the above parameters.
